Question of the day

Question of the day

What defines Blackness?

Well, it is not the color of your skin

Cuz we come from

Albino white to

Midnight black

Well, it is not the texture of your hair

Cuz we come corn silk, bone straight to

Curls so tight they wind on themselves

Well, it is not the width of your nose

Cuz we come from across the whole face to how do you breathe

So, what defines Blackness?

It is that indefinable soul that makes

Claps crisper,

Strolls have rhythm

Necks pop

Tongues clack

Eyes roll to the heavens

You cannot put your finger on it

But you know it when you see it

It is why those who passed had to move

Far away

Blackness recognizes Blackness
