Here is a midday meditation session for you. We will focus on the word accept. According to Merriam-Webster to accept is to receive (something offered) willingly, to endure without protest or reaction, and to give admittance or approval to. I would like us to contemplate on this word and what it means in our practice.
While meditating, thoughts drift into our minds. They are supposed to, that is what the mind does. I want us to accept this fact, notice the thoughts, treat the thought with kindness and compassion, and let the thought leave the mind. Often we think meditation is to be thoughtless, and really it is learning to accept how you feel in the present moment. To endure it with no protest, and receive those feelings willingly.
